Francis J. Gray, Jr.

Fran Gray has been in the construction business since 1971. His career with Carr began as a Field Engineer which progressed to Estimator, and then to Project Manager. In 1985, he took over the company with Dave Driscoll, and at that point became the firm’s CEO. In 2014, Fran took over 100% of the company. Fran has a wealth of experience in all types of construction and continues to manage individual jobs in addition to overseeing the day to day operations of the company. His excellent project management skills are noted and appreciated by Carr’s clients both old and new.

Fran graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and also served as an officer in the United States Navy before beginning his career with Carr.


Adam T. Gray

Vice President / Business Development

Adam Gray joined Carr Enterprises in 2005. His current roles include project manager, business development, and assisting Fran Gray in the general management of the company. Adam is a LEED Accredited Professional, an Associate Constructor per the American Institute of Constructors (AIC), and holds a Healthcare Construction Certificate from the American Society for Healthcare Engineering. (ASHE).

Adam graduated from Rollins College in 2003 with an MBA in Finance and a BA in Economics after completing the College’s Five Year Advanced Management Program.


Ian Calvert

Chief Estimator

Ian has been Chief Estimator at Carr since 1997, and is a graduate of the University of Aston, Birmingham England. Ian’s main duty is the preparation of all construction cost estimates, which includes the estimates and preconstruction budgets for Carr’s competitively bid and negotiated projects.

When not tackling the challenges of work, lan prefers to spend his leisure time at home with the family or on the golf course with friends. He enjoys exercising, daily newspaper puzzles, playing guitar and reading a wide range of nonfiction and classic fiction literature.


Karen L. Clepper

Controller / Office Manager / Safety Coordinator

Karen has been on the accounting side of the construction industry for over 40 years. A Carr employee since 1984, Karen’s responsibilities for the company include daily office management and financial reporting. Job costing, cash flow distribution, requisitions for payment, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and tax reporting are all part of Karen’s responsibilities.

A Massachusetts Notary Public as well, Karen attended Penn State University and Shippensburg State College, and currently resides in the Fort Point Channel area of Boston.
